Photoshop: save as tifs with transparent backgrounds

yearbook avenue: (job # 33004)
gallery-can save and copy 90% of layout designs
can use InDesign/Photoshop

Create> page ladder>choose a page (no two people on same pages at a time)
Right side column, 6 buttons. can click "design" and choose a pre-set template. (on menu, one can choose ad-templates, club-templates etc...)
On these templates, one can delete boxes and with two-headed arrows, expand other boxes.
(four-headed arrows are for moving)

Also can start from scratch! (go to Edit, Select All, and DELETE)
On top bar, go to blue square and select the type of box you want to add onto your page.
Mistake? You can undo- and go back to 7 'saves' back.

Go to 6 buttons and go to 'Pictures'
these images will not go bigger than appropriate res.
Double click on image, zoom in and out and drag to center it. (won't distort photo)
When you click on box and press arrow keys, it will move .5 pica.
If you go to 'View' and de-select 'snap to grid' it will move to 1/12 pica (square). Easier to use snap to grid.

Go to 6 buttons and go to 'Format'
go to stroke to make outlines around boxes/photos. Can also choose colors
Can drop shadow
select effects (see on top, formatting and effects)
also here, red-eye reduction and masking to make a cut-out background (add drop-shadow if you want) can use paint-brush, zoom in, etc...

Top menu: select 'A' box to create text box.
Go to format and all of the options relate now to texts. Fonts and galore!

Go to Images> clipart>backgrounds and drag and drop (unless green?)
to change opacity, go to format and tint
to flop photos or anything, go to format and click after flip/rotate, the arrows (horiz or vertical)
Top left Jostens icon sends you to homepage

Create>Image Upload

Create>Image Library to see uploaded photos
click on photos to see photo res. (won't allow you to stretch further than digital information will accommodate)
Can tag by selecting the pencil and type names etc... and will index the book

Last notes: when making text boxes, you can choose "advanced text" Can do different shapes, page numbers etc... and to the right of that, a gray rectangle- if you want to make color rectangle (stretch and fill with color) if you want a color box instead of photo or text.
